Social Impact Research Reports

We publish impact investing reports which we believe are of interest to our members. All Street members can also request specific deal reports of their choice.

We have been selected to be part of the UK governmental task force, led by Big Society Capital, set up to promote the use of the Social Investment Tax Relief (SITR). Under this initiative we will publish investment research reports to support individuals looking to invest in social enterprises and charities.

In partnership with the Social Stock Exchange, we have published reports on all companies listed on the exchange. This research is the most comprehensive investment analysis of member companies to date. We have used our unique research methodology and industry experience to provide an independent, in-depth analysis of each member company and the wider market. The companies covered in the report are individually listed below. Their profiles highlight the range and quality of investment opportunities that social impact investment field can bring.

SteviaLife Sweeteners Ltd (SteviaLife) grows stevia leaf which is dried and compacted and then sold to international refiners for the creation of stevia sweetener, used in food products globally. SteviaLife currently supplies primarily to Purecircle Limited (LON: PURE) which in turn supplies to leading food and beverage manufacturers such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Unilever and Danone. Sterling Suffolk Ltd (Sterling Suffolk) is located in close proximity to the Suffolk Energy from Waste facility, in Suffolk. The company aims to produce specialty varieties of tomatoes in modern glasshouse facilities and supply to major customers across the UK. Sterling Suffolk’s customers are major retailers at the quality end of the supermarket sector that are themselves ethically based companies with a commitment to social and environmental sustainability. The Suffolk Energy from Waste facility incinerates municipal waste to produce low carbon electricity for up to 30,000 households in the region. This process produces excess heat as a by-product that, if effectively utilised, can significantly increase the efficiency of the Suffolk Energy from Waste plant while displacing carbon intensive natural gas powered heating systems traditionally used in glasshouses. MSME Bonds SA (The Symbiotics Bond Programme) is a loan syndication platform sponsored by Symbiotics SA, an investment company dedicated to inclusive and sustainable finance in emerging markets. The programme brings together socially responsible investors and financial intermediaries (FIs) with the aim of funding micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in less developed countries, improving their access to finance. As of January 2017, the Symbiotics Bond Programme has arranged 64 impact bond transactions for a total notional amount of $569 m, investing in 50 different intermediaries and 23 different developing countries.
